In addition to strengthening the social and analytical skills of students, as an enrichment program, our student-led classes align with the Reading Literary (RL), Writing (W), and Speaking and Listening (SL) components of Georgia’s Educational Standards.

We offer the following programs:

MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

  • Youth Public Speaking - A six-week program that teaches students the fundamentals of public speaking. The benefits of this program include building self-confidence, improving reading and thinking skills, developing leadership skills, and helping students prepare for assessment tests. Open to both middle and high school students.

  • Public Speaking for the Young Entrepreneur - This class is perfect for students with great business ideas. But do you know how to pitch it? How do you develop it? Where do you get funding? Communication is at the heart of the entire process. This hands-on class will cover topics such as Solidifying your idea, Identifying and understanding your audience to communicate your vision, Creating a brand and learning how to communicate it to the public, Developing your product and expressing your idea to vendors and suppliers, Communicating your vision for funding, and Managing finances. The class will culminate with students drafting their initial business plan.

  • “Lights, Camera, Action!” Youth Public Speaking - A fast-paced, engaging six-week class that introduces students to public speaking using journalism as the backdrop. Students will develop their communication and analytical skills as they prepare creative and compelling news stories, develop interviewing skills, think on their feet, and much more.

  • The Art of Storytelling—This six-week class teaches students how to tell a compelling story that not only sets them apart but also equips them with the tools to navigate a variety of situations with confidence and charisma. Whether they're presenting their ideas in the classroom, engaging in discussions with friends, or standing on a stage addressing a room full of individuals, the power of storytelling will be their trusted companion.

  • The Traveling Club: Let’s State It and Create It! - Calling all young explorers! Unlock your imagination and hone your artistic and oratory skills with The Traveling Club, where visual arts and public speaking come alive through thrilling travel adventures! Students will dive into a world of colors, shapes, and textures as they embark on artistic expeditions inspired by coast-to-coast wonders. They will roar with confidence as they traverse the realm of public speaking! Our experienced instructors will guide students in creating masterpieces that reflect the beauty of cultures. They will engage you in storytelling sessions and teach students to express themselves with charisma and captivate their audience with the power of their words. 

  • The Traveling Club: Let’s State It and Create It TOO! - Attention young adventurers! The journey continues with the Travel Club Series: State It and Create It Too! Join us for an incredible blend of visual arts and public speaking that takes your creativity to the next level!

      - Go beyond boundaries as you step into the shoes of a true artist-explorer as we delve deeper into the world's wonders. From the breathtaking Kenai Fjords in Alaska to the Massive lava desert in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, experience advanced art techniques and mediums inspired by the richness of global cultures.

      - Command the Stage as you elevate your oratory skills to new heights! Immerse yourself in dynamic storytelling, persuasive speaking, and engaging group discussions. Learn to captivate your audience with precision and style, ensuring you leave a lasting impression on any stage.

  • Youth Leadership Training—This is a six-week program that prepares graduates of our program to become peer mentors for new program participants. It is only offered during the summer. (Please contact us for additional details and prerequisites for this training program.)

ELEMENTARY STUDENTS

  1. The Art of Storytelling - This six-week reading-based program is designed to help students improve their reading and listening skills. It also builds self-confidence, encourages imagination and creativity, and enhances communication skills in a fun and engaging environment.

Imagination Station Summer Camp—This five-day camp introduces students to the art of storytelling while immersing them in a summer camp experience where they get to run around and play, make new friends, do arts and crafts, make slime, and engage in outdoor activities without realizing they are improving their reading and communication skills.

  5. Musically Speaking Summer Camp - This 4-day camp introduces students to the art of storytelling while teaching them the fundamentals of music theory. Students will read their favorite stories and learn what storytelling and music have in common. They will also make arts and crafts, turn stories or poems into music, have scavenger hunts, make new friends, and engage in outdoor activities.
